Celebrity Support at the Ceremony
Apart from Zoë and Washington, celebrities such as Marla Gibbs, Channing Tatum, and Verdine White also attended the ceremony, showing their support. Kravitz emphasized the importance of being surrounded by loved ones, stating that it means everything to him. He added that while the star on the Walk of Fame is significant, having people to share the moment with makes it truly special.
Kravitz is preparing to launch his 12th studio album, Electric Blue Light, scheduled for release on May 24. Last October, he unveiled the lead single TK421 along with its viral music video, generating significant buzz on the internet.
Navigating Identity in the Music Industry
In a January cover story interview with People, the iconic rocker delved into his career journey, reminiscing about his early struggles as a Black artist. He recalled facing criticism from record labels, who claimed his music wasn't Black enough and pressured him to make a choice. However, Kravitz remained steadfast in his refusal to conform and stayed true to his artistic vision.
Kravitz expressed his amazement at his current state, saying, "It's sort of amazing to me that I could be where I am now and feel fresh and hungry." He added, "This is who God created me to be. I'm just trying to walk in that destiny."
The singer has also been nominated for this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class, alongside Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Cher, and the Dave Matthews Band.
