During a Wednesday appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Christopher Nolan, the filmmaker behind Oppenheimer, expressed his surprise to learn that Colbert didn't share his level of enthusiasm for the Fast & Furious franchise. Nolan responded to Colbert's confession of never having seen any installment of the Fast & Furious series by stating, "I have no guilt about being a fan of the Fast & Furious franchise."

The director expressed surprise when the late-night talk show host admitted to not having seen any of the films. He revealed that he watches them frequently and loves them, suggesting that Colbert should begin with Tokyo Drift.

Nolan's admiration for the Fast & Furious franchise isn't new. On an episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, The director revealed his fondness for the 2006 installment, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. He also praised director Justin Lin's contributions to the franchise.
Nolan Talks Tenet Re-Release
During his appearance on The Late Show, Nolan also discussed the upcoming theatrical re-release of Tenet, his 2020 action-packed spy film. Colbert questioned whether some viewers might have struggled to follow the plot, given the film's intricate time-traveling narrative involving characters traveling from the present day to World War III.
"If you are experiencing my film, then you are getting it," Nolan asserted. He emphasized feeling strongly about this viewpoint, adding that he believes frustrations some people have experienced with his narratives in the past may stem from a misunderstanding. Nolan clarified that his films are not puzzles to be decoded but rather experiences to be immersed in.
Tenet is set for a limited re-release starting on Feb. 23 exclusively in IMAX and 70mm format screens, running for just one week. This special event follows the film's initial release disruption due to COVID shutdowns.
