Andre Braugher achieved acclaim for portraying Det. Frank Pemberton in Homicide, securing his inaugural Emmy win in 1998. Transitioning to the comedic realm, he took on the role of the no-nonsense Capt. Raymond Holt in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, amassing four Emmy nominations. Braugher received 11 Emmy nominations throughout his career, with a second win for the 2006 miniseries Thief.
