    Defending champions India is all set for the six-team tournament which is scheduled in Rajgir, Bihar, from November 11 to 20.

    The Indian hockey team will kick off the Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2024 with an opening match against Malaysia, set to take place in Rajgir, Bihar, from November 11 to 20. All matches for this eighth edition of the tournament will be held at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium.

    This year's tournament features six competing teams: the People's Republic of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Malaysia, and Thailand. The teams will face off in a round-robin format during the group stage, with the top four advancing to the semi-finals.

    About Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2024:

    The Indian women's hockey team previously clinched the tournament title in 2016 and successfully reclaimed it last year in Ranchi, defeating Japan in the final. China, the gold medallists at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, is the top-ranked team in the competition, holding the sixth position in the world rankings, followed by India at ninth. 

    Japan ranks 11th, South Korea 15th, Malaysia 23rd, and Thailand is positioned at 29th. South Korea is the most successful team in the Women's Asian Champions Trophy, having won the title three times, while Japan, like India, has also claimed the championship twice.
