With just days to go before the upcoming Women's Asia Cup 2024, the tournament will take place in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, starting June 19. The eight teams participating are Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thailand, Nepal, and Malaysia. The top two teams from each group will play in the semi-finals on July 26 with the final held on July 28.

Harmanpreet Kaur's Women in Blue, who are the seven-time champions and reigning Asian title holders, are placed in Group B alongside Nepal, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates. The Indian team will face their arch-rivals Pakistan on July 19 at 7:00 PM IST. The Women's Asia Cup 2024 will be broadcast on the Star Sports Network in India, and the matches will be live-streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.

India has competed in all eight finals, losing only one to Bangladesh in 2018. Sri Lanka has finished second five times, while Pakistan has reached the final twice. The competition has been played in the T20 format since 2012, with eight teams at first, then six in 2016 and 2018, and seven in 2022. The eight countries are grouped into two groups: Group A and Group B.
