    Wimbledon, one of the world's biggest tennis tournaments, is set to begin on Monday, July 1 and end on July 14, when the men's singles final is slated to occur. All eyes will be on Carlos Alcaraz, the reigning men's singles champion. He won his maiden Wimbledon title last year, defeating Serbia's record 24-time Grand Slam victor Novak Djokovic 1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.

    India's Rohan Bopanna is in contention for the men's doubles title, while Sumit Nagal will lead the charge in men's singles. Fans can catch all the action on the Star Sports Network TV channels and also livestream on the Disney+ Hotstar app. Matches at Wimbledon 2024 will begin at 3:30 PM local time (London) and 8:00 PM IST, and they will be played at The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (Grass Court).

    Stars at the tournament:

    Seven-time Wimbledon winner Djokovic will be back in action here after withdrawing from the French Open due to a knee issue.

    Jannik Sinner of Italy, the world No. 1 and winner of the Australian Open, will also be vying for the top spot. Last year, he advanced to the Wimbledon semifinals before falling to Novak Djokovic, who finished as the runner-up.

    World No. 1 Iga Swiatek of Poland is aiming for her maiden Wimbledon victory in the women's singles competition. In 2023, the four-time winner of the French Open advanced to the final eight.

    After defeating Ons Jabeur of Tunisia in the Wimbledon final the previous year to win her maiden Grand Slam, Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Republic would be defending her title.

    World No. 2 Coco Gauff of the United States will also be a factor after qualifying for the semifinals of the French Open and the Australian Open earlier this year. Aryna Sabalenka, the winner of two Grand Slams, will also compete.

    Indian players at Wimbledon 2024:

    This year, Sumit Nagal, the top men's singles player in India, will compete in his first Wimbledon main event. In the opening round, he is slated to take on Serbia's Miomir Kecmanovic, ranked 53rd in the world.

    Tennis star Rohan Bopanna will be teaming up with Australian Matthew Ebden in the men's doubles competition. They will play France's Adrian Mannarino and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. The Indo-Aussie pair are the reigning Australian Open champions and had advanced to the Wimbledon Championship semifinals in 2023.

    Another Indian to watch out for is N Sriram Balaji in the men's doubles who is paired with Luke Johnson of Great Britain. In the first round, they will face Mate Pavic and Marcelo Arevalo, the current French Open champions.

    While Nagal will team up with Dusan Lajovic of Serbia to take against Pedro Martinez and Jaume Munar of Spain, Yuki Bhambri and Albano Olivetti of France will compete against Alexander Bublik and Alexander Shevchenko of Kazakhstan.
