T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8s
After days of games, the majority being low-scoring affairs, between 20 teams divided into four groups, it has now boiled down to just eight nations who have made it to the Super 8s of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and West Indies. While many expected the top teams to progress, there have also been some surprise eliminations: New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and others.

The eight teams to qualify are India (Group A), USA (Group A), Australia (Group B), England (Group B), Afghanistan (Group C), West Indies (Group C), South Africa (Group D), and Bangladesh (Group D). The matches will occur in the West Indies, with Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent serving as the hosts.
Super 8: Groups
Group 1: India, Australia, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
Group 2: USA, West Indies, South Africa and England.
So let's have a look at how these 8 teams progressed to the Super 8s:
India (Group A): The Men in Blue won their matches against Ireland (by 8 wickets), Pakistan (by 6 runs), and USA (by 7 wickets), while their game against Canada was abandoned due to a wet outfield.
USA (Group A): The American team stunned everyone with a win against Canada (by 7 wickets) and a surprising Super Over victory over Pakistan. They lost to India by 7 wickets, while the game against Ireland was abandoned due to rain.
Australia (Group B): The Aussies secured victories against Oman (by 39 runs), England (by 36 runs), Namibia (by 9 wickets), and Scotland (by 5 wickets) to top their group.
England (Group B): After their first game ended with no result due to rain, they lost to Australia by 36 runs. They made a turnaround by subsequently winning against Oman by 8 wickets and Namibia by 41 runs (DLS method).
Afghanistan (Group C): The Afghans won their first match by a mammoth 125 runs against Uganda, followed by a victory over New Zealand by 84 runs and another win against Papua New Guinea by 7 wickets. They will face the West Indies on June 18.
West Indies (Group C): The Windies secured a 5-wicket victory against Papua New Guinea, followed by a commanding 134-run win over Uganda and a close 13-run victory against New Zealand. They are set to play against Afghanistan on June 18.
South Africa (Group D): The Proteas won all their matches against Sri Lanka (by 6 wickets), Netherlands (by 4 wickets), Bangladesh (by 4 runs), and Nepal (by 1 run).
Bangladesh (Group D): They started with a 2-wicket victory over Sri Lanka but lost narrowly to South Africa by 4 runs. However, they bounced back with wins against the Netherlands (25 runs) and Nepal (21 runs).
