    The Paris Olympics are set to kick off in the French capital as the country prepares for the world's biggest sporting event. With all eyes on prominent athletes, India aims to make history again following a successful campaign in Tokyo, where they secured seven medals. Over the next 16 days, 117 athletes from India will compete across 16 sports.

    Indian table tennis legend Sharath Kamal and two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu will be the flag bearers for India during the opening ceremony scheduled for July 26, 2024, at 11.30 PM IST. In India, the Games will be broadcast on Sports 18 TV channels and streamed live on the Jio Cinema app and website. The games for India will kick off on July 25th, a day before the opening ceremony with archery qualifications.

    When are the Paris Olympics?

    This year's Olympic Games are set to take place from July 26 to August 11. While handball and archery begin on July 25, several sports, like football, and rugby sevens, will start before the ceremonial opening ceremony on July 24. The multisport competition lasts for a total of 19 days.

    How many athletes are competing in the Olympics?

    This year's Olympic competition included 10,500 athletes from 206 different countries. In 32 different sports, competitors will vie for 329 gold medals.
