The 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris are scheduled after the opening ceremony on August 28, with many of the same venues as the Paris Olympics holding 549 events over 22 sports. Athletes from 177 countries will compete, including members of the Neutral and Refugee teams, with 10 nations making their Paralympic debuts. Notably, India will send its largest contingent for the Games with 84 athletes.
The Olympics in Paris was streamed live on the Jio Cinema app and website in addition to being televised live on the Sports 18 1 HD/SD, Sports 18 2 HD/SD, VH1, MTV, and Colors networks.
When are the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games?
This will be Paris' first Paralympic Games and France's second. The first was in 1992 when Tignes and Albertville co-hosted the Winter Paralympics.
The opening ceremony for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will take place on Wednesday, August 28, and will end on Sunday, September 8. The first Paralympic Summer Games in the French capital will showcase 22 sports, including both individual and team sports.
Countries making their debut:
American Samoa, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, Guam, Kiribati, Kosovo, Palau, South Sudan, and Tuvalu are set to make their Paralympic debuts at these games.
Indian athletes at Paris 2024 Paralympic Games:
Indian athletes have competed in every Summer Paralympics since 1984, making their official debut in 1968. India will send 69 competitors to compete in several sports, namely archery, athletics, badminton, cycling, judo, para canoeing, powerlifting, rowing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, and taekwondo.
