The Pakistan cricket team is gearing up to host Bangladesh for a two-match Test series beginning August 21. Despite the ongoing civil unrest in the country, Bangladesh aims to secure a series victory and offer their nation a reason to celebrate. About PAK vs BAN:

With players like Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, and Babar Azam leading the way, Pakistan will start the series as the favourites. Given the excellent pitches for both pace and spin, home advantage is anticipated to be a major factor for the Men in Green. 

But Bangladesh's roster is made up of both seasoned veterans and bright young guns, with important players like Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim contributing vital depth and experience.

This will be the seventh clash between the two teams with Pakistan having won all six of the previous Test series. They have not yet been defeated by Bangladesh in a single Test match.

WTC standings:

In terms of the teams' standings in the World Test Championship points table, Pakistan ranks 5th after five games played in which they lost three and had two victories. They have also lost two points, and now their total sits at 22 points. 

Bangladesh, meanwhile, occupies an 8th position after four games played, with one victory and three losses.
