What is happening in Multan? It seems like all the batters from both Pakistan and England are just smashing the ball across the field and scoring hundreds. It's Day 4 of the 1st Test between the two sides, and fans have already seen three centurions, one double centurion, and one triple centurion at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

England's leading Test batter, Joe Root, forged an extraordinary 454-run partnership with Harry Brook on Thursday (October 10), setting a record unprecedented in cricket history. This marked the 1st time since the format began in 1877 that two players have amassed 450 runs together for the fourth wicket. The previous record was held by Adam Voges and Shaun Marsh of Australia, who scored 449 runs against the West Indies in Hobart in 2015.

Not only that, but Harry Brook also went on to score 317 runs off just 322 balls, smashing three sixes and 29 fours. His innings came to an end when Saim Ayub took his wicket. Several Pakistan players congratulated him as he walked off, while Ben Stokes gave him a supportive pat as he climbed the stairs, looking exhausted.

Fans on X (formerly known as Twitter) praised Brook for his impressive knock but simultaneously trolled the Multan pitch, referring to it as a "national highway" where every batter seemed to be getting runs.

After winning the toss and opting to bat, the Men in Green posted 556 runs before being all out. In response, the English side scored a staggering 823 runs while losing seven wickets before declaring. As of now, after 11 overs, the host nation has scored 37 runs and already lost two wickets, while the visitors hope to take quick wickets to win this first clash. Saim Ayub and Babar Azam are currently at the crease for Pakistan.
