After winning the toss and opting to field first, Team India restricted Zimbabwe to 152, taking 7 wickets in the 4th T20I at the Harare Sports Club. While chasing the total, Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Shubman Gill showed intent and scored 106 runs in 10 overs.
What got fans excited was Jaiswal's quick-fire half-century. The left-hander leaned across to smash the ball through extra cover for a four, reaching a 29-ball 50. This half-ton came within 7 overs, and many took to social media, particularly X (formerly known as Twitter), to discuss how scoring a bulk of the runs in the Powerplay is so useful.
As for the captain, he did not face many balls with Yashasvi Jaiswal in full swing, but after 10 overs, he also upped his ante and scored 37 runs off 23 balls.
Earlier, Zimbabwe batters Wessly Madhevere (25 off 24) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (32 off 31) got off to a good start, with Sikandar Raza contributing with his 46 off 28. However, the other batters, namely Brian Bennett (9 off 14), Johnathan Campbell (3 off 3, run-out), Dion Myers (12 off 13), Clive Madande (7 off 5), and Faraz Akram (4 off 3), could not do much.
Khaleel Ahmed picked up two wickets for India, while Washington Sundar, Abhishek Sharma, and Shivam Dube each picked up one. Even debutant Tushar Deshpande took a wicket.
As for the 5-match series, after losing a low-scoring encounter in the opening match, the visitors came back strongly with two convincing wins. They currently have a 2-1 lead and a win in the 4th T20I would seal the series win for the Men in Blue.
