CSK vs PBKS
Match 49 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) concluded with the visiting side winning by 7 wickets in 17.5 overs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Prabhsimran Singh (13 off 10) provided a breezy start before becoming Richard Gleeson's first IPL victim. However, later, Rilee Rossouw (43 off 23) came in with a bang and found support in Jonny Bairstow (46 off 30).

PBKS kept the momentum going; however, Shivam Dube was given the ball, and he halted the proceedings as he struck with just his second ball of the season. Shardul Thakur then gave CSK a wicket off a low full toss, as Rossouw chopped one back onto his stumps. However, despite the three wickets that fell, the chase was never a threat. Shashank Singh and Sam Curran helped the visitors get past the finish line, and fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to react, troll, and speak about Chennai's loss at home.
Earlier, CSK posted 162 runs on the board as PBKS bowlers were in fine form. They controlled the game after CSK did not lose a wicket in the Powerplay. Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar sent back Ajinkya Rahane (29 off 24), Shivam Dube (0 off 1), and Ravindra Jadeja (2 off 4) in quick succession. CSK's impact sub did not make an impact as Sameer Rizvi (21 off 23) struggled, and his innings were brought to an end by Kagiso Rabada.
CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was watching from the other end, went on to complete his fifty before Arshdeep Singh bowled him for 62 off 48. Moeen Ali added 15 off 9, while MS Dhoni was run out for 14 off 11.
For PBKS, Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar picked up two wickets each, while Kagiso Rabada and Arshdeep Singh got one each.
