About the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024:
Originally slated to be held in Bangladesh but now hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the 17-day tournament will run from October 3 to 20, with the tournament opener seeing Bangladesh take on Scotland. Before the official matches begin, teams will have the opportunity to get some match practice, with two scheduled warm-up matches for each team.
The Women in Blue have not yet won an ICC Women's T20 World Cup trophy with their best performance coming in 2020 when they reached the final but lost the summit clash to Australia. West Indies, meanwhile, have previously won the competition, achieving the feat in India in 2016. The Hayley Matthews-led side will look to replicate that success as they head into the tournament in the Middle East.
