After conceding numerous wides and no-balls, South Africa's Patrick Kruger FINALLY claimed the wicket of Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav in the 11th over of his very first spell. In the opening T20I at Kingsmead, Durban, Kruger’s first over went as: 1, 4, N1, 2, WD, N, WD, WD, 1, 1, Wicket.

Kruger struggled throughout the over but had the wicket of India's captain to show for it. The knuckleball, bowled with a split-finger, was missed by Suryakumar Yadav, who went for the loft early. He made contact with the inner part of the bat, and the ball sailed toward deep square leg. Andile Simelane made his first contribution to the game by taking a good catch to dismiss Yadav, who walked back after scoring 21 off 17 balls (2 fours, 1 six).

As of now, 14 overs have been bowled, with Sanju Samson on 99 and Tilak Varma having scored 29 runs. The Men in Blue have posted 162 runs for the loss of just two wickets, while South Africa, having used seven bowlers, are desperately searching for more wickets.
