While Team India managed to post 171 runs on the board despite losing 7 wickets in their 20 overs in the second semifinal of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 against England at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, the batter who faced backlash and trolling was Shivam Dube.

Dube came in after Hardik Pandya played a cameo, scoring 23 off 13, and was seen saying something to him as the vice-captain walked out. However, it did not seem to work, as Dube departed without scoring. Shivam Dube has had a rather mediocre tournament, and this latest performance has not helped his case. Fans on X (formerly known as Twitter) expressed frustration and disappointment with the all-rounder

After 20 overs, India amassed 171 runs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Rohit Sharma (57 off 39), and Suryakumar Yadav (47 off 36) were the highest scorers while contributions came from Virat Kohli (9 off 9), Rishabh Pant (4 off 6), Hardik Pandya (23 off 13), Axar Patel (10 off 6), and Ravindra Jadeja (17* off 9).
