IND vs ENG Guyana weather report: Will there be a WASHOUT? Rain likely to favour one team in T20 World Cup 2024

With the 1st semi-final done and dusted which saw South Africa reach their first final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating Afghanistan - in an uninterrupted rain game, the 2nd game between India and England will have a different story.

Showers are predicted to disrupt the Men in Blue's preparations for Thursday's T20 World Cup match in Guyana against the reigning champions, England. With similar projections for the semi-final match, rain is anticipated, especially after the scheduled start time of 10:30 AM (local time), which follows earlier rainfall in Guyana the day before.

According to Accuweather, rain is expected to start early in the morning and get heavier after 9:00 AM local time (6:30 PM IST). Around 11:00 AM local time (8:30 PM IST which is half an hour after the start of the game), the chance of rain is expected to be at its highest; it is likely to diminish after noon.

9:00 AM (6:30 PM IST) - 40 % chance of rain

10:00 AM (7:30 PM IST) - 66 % chance of rain

11:00 AM (8:30 PM IST) - 75 % chance of rain

12:00 PM (9:30 PM IST) - 49 % chance of rain

1:00 PM (10:30 PM IST) - 34 % chance of rain

2:00 PM (11:30 PM IST) - 34 % chance of rain

3:00 PM (7:30 PM IST) - 40 % chance of rain

So what will happen to India and England if rain washes out the clash?

Despite knowing the weather, the ICC did not keep any Reserve Day for any of the two semi-finals. There will be an extra four hours to finish the India vs England clash, however, A 10-over-per-side competition is required to receive a score.

But, if the teams fail to bat for even 10 overs, the match will be deemed abandoned. In the event of a washout, Rohit Sharma and his men will advance to the final due to their superior performance in the group stage compared to England.
