IND vs BAN: Two days washed out; will Day 4 also be abandoned without a ball bowled in Kanpur? Weather report for Green Park Stadium

The main question now is whether there will be any play on Day 4 (Monday) of the 2nd Test, or if the match is destined to end in a draw due to the weather.

After Day 2 was abandoned without a single ball bowled, the third day too met a similar fate and was called off due to a wet outfield at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. Although there was no rain on September 29 (Sunday), the lingering puddles on the field and a lack of sunlight made drying the ground difficult. Both India and Bangladesh have now lost two consecutive full days of play.

While the entire ground was covered on the previous day, that wasn't the case today. There was no rain from 8:30 AM IST onwards, and all covers were removed by 9:30 AM IST. However, wet patches near the bowlers' run-up and in the outfield couldn't be dried. The main question now is whether there will be any play on Day 4 (Monday) of the 2nd Test, or if the match is destined to end in a draw due to the weather.

Kanpur weather forecast for Day 4 (Monday):

Fortunately, the weather report for September 29 offers some hope, with no rain forecast according to Weather.com. While it is expected to stay cloudy when play is scheduled to begin (9:30 AM), the temperature is forecasted to be between 28°C and 31°C.

    IND vs BAN 2nd Test:

So far, only 35 overs have been bowled in the match, with Bangladesh at 107/3 after being asked to bat first. Mushfiqur Rahim (6*) and Mominul Haque (40*) were at the crease when play was halted due to bad light, shortly followed by rain on Day 1. For India, Akash Deep picked up two wickets, while Ravichandran Ashwin took one, dismissing Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto. With just two days left, it will be interesting to see how both teams approach the remainder of the Test, assuming no further weather-related interruptions.
