IND vs BAN T20 World Cup warm-up game - Sanju Samson opens for India in New York; fans react

India is playing their first and only warm-up game against Bangladesh in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, and to everyone's surprise, the Men in Blue had a new opener alongside Rohit Sharma. The players, after the toss, walked out onto the field, and Sanju Samson was seen at the crease with Rohit Sharma, which surprised fans. Bangladesh also started with spin, with Mahedi Hasan bowling.

Seeing the Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper opening for India, even if it is for the warm-up game, got netizens talking. Many even questioned if India is looking to start their World Cup campaign with Virat Kohli at the top and not Yashasvi Jaiswal.

As for the clash, India won the toss and opted to bat at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. After the two overs, India scored 11 runs but lost Sanju Samson for a run. Replacing Samson was another wicketkeeper, Rishabh Pant.

Rohit Sharma, at the toss, gave an update about Virat Kohli and said, "Virat has just arrived yesterday, he's going to miss out. The rest are all available, and we'll see how to use them. We arrived quite early, so the body clock has adjusted; we just have to see how well we can adjust to these conditions."

Today's match will provide India with an excellent opportunity to acclimatize to the conditions they will encounter in their upcoming three league games against Ireland, Pakistan, and the United States, respectively.
