    Having played their only warm-up game against Bangladesh in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, the Men in Blue secured a comfortable 60-run victory at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. The Indian bowlers successfully defended the 183 runs scored in their allotted 20 overs, claiming 8 wickets in the process. 

    Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Dube each picked up two wickets, with Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya, and Axar Patel also contributing with one wicket each, while Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja remained wicketless.

    For Bangladesh, Mahmudullah was the highest scorer with 40 runs off 28 balls before retiring hurt. Shakib Al Hasan also contributed with 28 runs, although he took 34 balls to reach that score. Tanzid Hasan scored 17 off 18, while Towhid Hridoy made 13 off 14. Soumya Sarkar (0 off 2), Litton Das (6 off 8), Najmul Hossain Shanto (0 off 6), Rishad Hossain (5 off 5), and Jaker Ali (0 off 1) could not make significant contributions.

    Earlier, India, who won the toss and opted to bat, posted 182 runs in their allotted 20 overs, losing five wickets. Sanju Samson departed for 1 off 6, while skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 23 off 19. Shivam Dube scored just 14 off 16, and Suryakumar Yadav played a good cameo of 31 off 18. Ravindra Jadeja came in towards the end but could not contribute much, scoring 4 off 6. The highlight of the day was Rishabh Pant's 32-ball half-century.

    During the toss, Rohit Sharma provided an update about Virat Kohli, stating, "Virat just arrived yesterday; he's going to miss out. The rest are all available, and we'll see how to use them. We arrived quite early, so the body clock has adjusted; we just have to see how well we can adapt to these conditions."
