After days of no play in the 2nd Test between India and Bangladesh due to rain or a wet outfield, the game finally resumed on Day 4 at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. Jasprit Bumrah drew first blood, but the stunning catch taken by Rohit Sharma off Mohammed Siraj's delivery will be the talk of the town.

In the 49.4th over, Siraj bowled a length ball around off, and Litton Das looked to smash it over the infield, but he did not get enough elevation. The ball went flat and hard towards Rohit Sharma, who, at mid-off, leapt with one hand in the air and grabbed it over his head. Rohit was absolutely delighted and was swarmed by his teammates. Litton Das, on the other hand, was in shock, staring in disbelief as he tried to comprehend what had happened, but he had to walk back for 13 (30) [4s-3].

On Day 1, only 35 overs were possible after the start was delayed due to a wet outfield. The game was later halted due to bad light, followed shortly by rain. Bangladesh, aiming for a series-levelling win in Kanpur, began Day 4 at 107-3, with Mushfiqur Rahim (6*) and Mominul Haque (40*) at the crease. However, as of 52 overs, the visitors have scored 158 runs and lost 5 wickets.

India currently holds the top position in the World Test Championship (WTC) standings, boasting seven wins from 10 matches with a win percentage of 71.67. A 2-0 whitewash against Bangladesh would have bolstered their chances of reaching the WTC final for the third consecutive time, leaving them needing just three more wins from their remaining five matches.

However, with the Kanpur Test likely heading for a draw, the teams would split the six points, making India's path to the final more challenging. The Men in Blue will now need to win at least two of their five matches in the Border-Gavaskar series against Australia later this year and sweep New Zealand in their upcoming three-Test home series to secure a spot in the final.
