After an exciting end to the 1st Test, where India took a 1-0 lead in the 2-match series against Bangladesh, it's now time to shift focus to the 2nd game, set to be played at Green Park, Kanpur. Interestingly, just hours after the 1st game ended in India's favour, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Men's Selection Committee announced India's squad for the second Test. In a release issued by the BCCI, the selection committee retained the same squad for the second Test.

The matches will not include any day-night games, with play commencing at 9:30 AM (IST). Fans can watch the live broadcast on the Sports18 channel, and the matches will also be streamed live on the JioCinema app and website.

India on the WTC points table:

With seven wins in 10 matches, Rohit Sharma's team holds a PCT of 71.67. India, with 86 points, has widened their lead over second-placed Australia by 9.16 percentage points.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh has slipped to 6th place with a PCT of 39.29. Sri Lanka's thrilling victory over New Zealand in Galle has pushed them into third place, overtaking their opponents in the standings.

    Green Park, Kanpur pitch report:

The pitch at Kanpur's Green Park Stadium is known for aiding spinners. Traditionally, it favours spin bowlers, as the surface tends to become dry and dusty. Due to the region's geography, the bounce is also quite low. The captain winning the toss might prefer to bowl first on this surface.

India's predicted playing XI for the 2nd Test vs Bangladesh:

KL Rahul's position in the squad was a subject of conjecture, especially following his performance in the series opener at Chepauk. The selection committee, however, chose to give him another chance. It will be intriguing to see whether Sarfaraz Khan is preferred to him in the starting lineup.

Another potential change for the team could be strengthening the batting lineup and adding an extra spinner. With the Kanpur pitch expected to favour spin, India might opt for three spinners and Axar Patel could replace Akashdeep.

    India vs Bangladesh squads:

India: Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah, Yash Dayal.
