Duleep Trophy 2024: Axar Patel stabilizes India D's innings; India B begins to falter against India A

After a morning session where India B appeared set to post a high total against India A at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, and India D seemed almost out against India C at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur, things shifted in the first games of the Duleep Trophy 2024 after lunch.

India A vs India B, 1st Match:

India B got off to a solid start with the bat, scoring 65 runs by lunch after losing two wickets. Captain Abhimanyu Easwaran made 13 off 42 balls, while Yashasvi Jaiswal contributed 30 runs from 59 balls, including 6 boundaries. However, Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed dismissed the two openers.

Just before lunch, the 'Khan Brothers,' Sarfaraz and Musheer, were at the crease. However, shortly after the break, Sarfaraz Khan fell for 9 off 35 balls, and Rishabh Pant managed just 7 off 10 balls. Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar both departed for ducks, while Sai Kishore was out for a single run.

Currently, with India B having scored just 94 runs in 44 overs and lost 7 wickets, Musheer Khan and Navdeep Saini are at the crease. Khaleel Ahmed, Akash Deep, and Avesh Khan each took two wickets.

Meanwhile, in Anantapur, Shreyas Iyer's India D was struggling, having lost 7 wickets by lunch. They had posted 76 runs in 30.4 overs, with Axar Patel at the crease. After lunch, Patel turned things around, scoring 85 runs off 114 balls so far. He is supported by Arshdeep Singh, who has contributed 13 runs from 30 balls.
