The young Indian player held off the in-form top seed Anders Antonsen of Denmark with a scoreline of 21-11, 17-21, 21-19 to stay alive in his quest for his first HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 title.

The 22-year-old advanced to the semi-finals by defeating World No. 33 Takuma Obayashi in the Round of 16 and World No. 24 Rasmus Gemke of Denmark in the Round of 32.

As for Alex Lanier, in the first and second rounds, respectively, he won both of his games with ease. He defeated Sankar Subramanian of India in the first round and Su Li Yang of Chinese Taipei in the second to advance to the round of eight.

The Indian and French shuttlers will cross paths for the second time in their careers, with Rajawat previously emerging victorious with a 21-18, 18-21, 21-15 win in the quarter-finals of the Madrid Spain Masters 2023.

The winner of this match will face the winner of the other semi-final, an all-Japanese affair featuring last week's US Open champion Yushi Tanaka against Koki Watanabe, who upset second seed Kodai Naraoka in three games.
