Indians at BWF Hong Kong Open 2024:
The women's doubles duo of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand secured a convincing victory over the Ukrainian pair Polina Buhrova and Yevheniia Kantemyr (21-14, 21-13) in the Round of 32. They will now face the second-seeded Chinese duo Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning, with a quarter-final spot at stake.
In mixed doubles, B. Sumeeth Reddy and N. Sikki Reddy triumphed over fellow Indians Tarun Kona and Sri Krishna Priya Kudaravalli (21-9, 21-10) to advance to the Round of 16, where they will meet the eighth-seeded Indonesian pair Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai.
As for Kiran George, he lost his Round of 32 match against Su Li-yang (Chinese Taipei) 21-16, 21-16. Other notable shuttlers still in contention include Paris 2024 Gold medalist Viktor Axelsen (Denmark), Kodai Naraoka (Japan), Jonatan Christie (Singapore), Tai Tzu-ying (Chinese Taipei), and more.
