Indian shooter Manu Bhaker, along with her partner Sarabjot Singh, secured India's second medal at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Tuesday by winning bronze in the 10m mixed team air pistol event. At 22, Manu, who also won bronze in the women's 10m air pistol event, became the first Indian woman to win two Olympic medals.

Today's victory cements Manu's legacy as the first athlete from independent India to win multiple medals in a single Olympic Games and marks India's first Olympic medal in a shooting team event. The Bronze medal match:
In the 10m mixed team air pistol event, the competition was a race to 16 points. South Korea started strong with 20.5 points, while the Indians scored 18.8, giving Korea the early lead. India evened the score to 2-2 in the second series with Manu's 10.7 and Sarabjot's 10.5.
India then surged ahead to a 4-2 lead after scoring 20.8, while Korea managed only 19.8. With another series win, India extended their lead to 6-2. Despite Korea's timeout and a brief recovery, India dominated, leading 8-2 after a series where Manu scored 10.6 and Sarabjot 9.6.

Korea won the sixth series, closing the gap to 8-4, but Manu and Sarabjot quickly regained momentum. They won the seventh series 10-4, with Manu scoring 10.6. Even as Korea narrowed the margin to 10-6, India responded with strong performances, pushing their lead to 12-6 after a crucial timeout adjustment.
Manu and Sarabjot's consistent scoring kept India ahead, reaching 14-6 before Korea made a late push. Despite Korea's efforts to close the gap, India secured the bronze medal with a 16-10 victory, winning the final series 19.6 to 18.5.
