Team India and Team Mongolia
With just a few days left until the start of the multisport event—the Paris Olympic Games 2024—countries have begun releasing their various kits and uniforms. During the ceremonial send-off organized by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) in New Delhi a few weeks ago, the new kits, ceremonial dress, playing kit, performance shoes, and travel gear were unveiled.
While things seemed fine at first, the situation changed as other countries began revealing their uniforms. Especially after Mongolia unveiled their outfits, they quickly became an internet sensation, leading many to criticize India's attire, with some even calling Team India's uniform "tacky."

Bharat has so many traditional dresses. Adapt any of these to create an aesthetic Olympics uniform. Give this as a competition to students at NIFT instead of established designers.

You would be surprised that same guy who designed Indian uniform designed these. pic.twitter.com/OX0BBaRYts

According to PIB in a press release, "The three kits included the playing kit designed by JSW Inspire, the ceremonial dress designed by Tarun Tahiliani-owned TASVA and performance shoe and travel gear by PUMA were on show during a ramp-walk by the confident athletes".

About Mongolia's uniform:
Founded by two sisters, Michel&Amazonka is one of the most forward-thinking fashion labels in Mongolia. The female flag bearer's outfit has an embroidered vest worn with a robe called a deel, which is still customarily worn in Mongolia. This is accessorised with shoes and jewellery as well as a purse that is evocative of potli bags from India. A second female model wore earrings, a pleated skirt, a blouse, a purse, and an identical embroidered vest—all of which represented the uniform used by female athletes.

Conversely, the male flag bearer will wear a lightweight cotton Mongolian robe with lucky embroidery as part of his attire. An embroidered vest, traditional Mongolian boots, and an adorned belt complete the look. An embroidered vest, slacks, a Mandarin collar shirt, and footwear make up the male athlete's outfit.
This quadrennial competition will be conducted for the 33rd time in 2024, at the Summer Olympics in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11. It is projected that competitors from more than 200 nations will compete in 329 events across 32 sports.
