Team India for T20 World Cup
With 62 Indian Premier League (IPL) matches done and dusted and the cash-rich tournament still searching for its top four teams for the playoffs, with only Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) making the first cut, anticipation is high. The recent losses Rajasthan Royals (RR) have faced and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) winning five games on the trot to reach the fifth spot have kept the hopes of many teams alive.

However, amid all this, the squad for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 was announced, and despite mixed reactions, fans have accepted the 15 members who will represent the Men in Blue in the West Indies and the USA. Rohit Sharma:
The Indian team captain, while not the skipper of the Mumbai Indians (MI), was among the standout batters for his team in what turned out to be a forgettable season for the five-time champions. In 13 matches, the opener scored 349 runs with his highest being 105*.

Hardik Pandya:
The MI skipper made the Indian team's vice-captain, and this did not sit well with many as he had a very shaky start to the tournament. However, many expected it to happen with all the booing he received. In 13 matches, he scored 200 runs with 46 being his highest. As for bowling, he picked up 11 wickets at an economy of 10.59.

Yashasvi Jaiswal:
The Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener had a string of low scores before he smashed a 59-ball hundred against MI. In his 12 games played, he has scored 344 runs at a strike rate of 153.57. While he is part of the 15-member squad, fans will be hoping he regains form, or he could be seen sitting on the bench while Rohit Sharma opens the innings with another batter.

Virat Kohli:
In the run-up to the Indian team selection, there was a lot of talk about the strike rate of the game's all-time great in T20s. However, he silenced his critics by amassing 661 runs at a strike rate of 155.16 in 13 matches. He is also the current Orange Cap holder.

The pace ace was always known to make it to the Playing XI. He is leading the wicket column with 20 scalps in 13 games at an economy rate of just 6.48. He is the current Purple Cap holder as well.
