Today, the Indian cricketing history witnessed yet another star’s retirement. This time round, it is the ace Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan who announced his retirement with a social media post. Popularly known as the ‘Gabbar’ of the Indian cricket team, the stylish left-hand opener Shikhar leaves behind a legacy of an illustrious career that’s embellished by countless great innings and iconic partnerships.
Shikhar Dhawan, who was counted amongst the most dependable batsmen of the Indian team, took to social media and posted an extremely heartfelt video post which he had captioned as, ‘As I close this chapter of my cricketing journey, I carry with me countless memories and gratitude. Thank you for the love and support! Jai Hind!’.

In no time, there was an array of comments which were seen pouring in from the seamless fans of the cricketer from all over. While one wrote, ‘End of an Gabbar Era…’, there was also the actor-cricketer Abhishek Kapoor who wrote, ‘Thank you for all the memories and entertainment you’ve provided on the field …a true cricketer, a great senior who was always there to help youngsters and a great human being most importantly…love and luck always Shikhar pajji’.

A netizen wrote, ‘He was one of the reasons for the team to be united all the time. His level of controlling the anger while on field is totally awesome, which seems to be a rare trait these days.
