About other Indian athletes:
However, there have also been some setbacks as the Indian women's hockey team failed to qualify. Murali Sreeshankar met the qualifying standards in the men's long jump, but unfortunately, won't make the trip to Paris as he suffered a knee injury that has sidelined him for the entire 2024 season.
Triple jumper Eldhose Paul also pulled out of the race to qualify for the Paris Olympics due to a heel bone fracture.
India's boxing quota, specifically in the women's 57kg category, was forfeited following the suspension of Parveen Hooda by the International Testing Agency (ITA) due to whereabouts failures. Hooda had initially secured the quota at the Asian Games.
Suraj Panwar became the third Indian racewalker, after Servin Sebastian and Arshpreet Singh, to lose his Olympics qualifying mark. His qualifying time for the Paris 2024 Olympics was invalidated due to faulty readings at the Indian Open Race Walking Competition.
Rudrankksh Patil, who obtained a men's 10m air rifle shooting quota for India during the qualifying period, could not make it to the final team.
Indian hockey goalkeeper PR Sreejesh has announced that the Paris 2024 Olympics will mark his final international appearance with the senior national team.
