The men's archery squad, like the Indian women's team, advanced to the quarter-finals in the qualifying rounds. However, the team, which included Dhiraj Bommadevara, Tarundeep Rai, and Pravin Jadhav, lost 6-2 against Turkey in the quarters of the Paris 2024 Olympics on Monday at Les Invalides. India, the third seed, struggled from the outset against the sixth-seeded Turkish trio of Mete Gazoz, Berkim Tumer, and Abdullah Yildirim.
Pravin Jadhav was India's top archer in the team event, scoring four 10s, three 9s, and an 8. Dhiraj Bommadevara, who finished fourth in the ranking round last week, struggled to find his range, recording 7s in the first and last sets. Turkey maintained their consistency in the second set, scoring 55 on five 9s and a 10, while India scored 52 on a 10, two 9s, and three 8s.
The Indian archers lost to the 🇹🇷 Turkish trio of Mete Gazoz, Berkim Tumer and Abdullah Yildirmis by a scoreline of 2-6.

Keep supporting the Indian 💪🏻 contingent, #Cheer4Bharat and stream #OlympicsonJiocinema and DD Sports!
India did win the third set after losing the first two, but Turkey eventually ended the contest with a dominant fourth set in which they shot four 10s and two 9s in their 58, while India could only muster 54 with a rank awful effort that landed in the blue zone and earned them only seven points.
The performance of the Indian archers, like that of the women's team, has sparked rage, hurt, and disappointment among followers on social media, with reactions posted on X (previously Twitter).
