Ireland Women's innings ended at 145 for 6 in 20 overs, falling short of their target of 146 runs in the first T20I. Orla Prendergast and Gaby Lewis led the way in the top order as they combined for 39 runs scored, laying the groundwork. Ireland managed a respectable total despite the middle-order contributions of Laura Delany and Leah Paul, whose slow scoring pace prevented them from accelerating.
In response, Vishmi Gunaratne and Harshitha Samarawickrama led the Sri Lanka Women's chase with a solid opening partnership of 83 runs. With 86 off 45 balls, Samarawickrama stayed undefeated while Gunaratne scored 30 runs. With eight wickets remaining, Sri Lanka Women won easily.
