IPL Playoffs 2024 - Rain plays spoilsport; KKR vs SRH to play Qualifier 1, RR vs RCB for the Eliminator

The final league game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati witnessed persistent rain, and despite managing to hold the toss, the game could not commence and was officially called off. With this game not being played and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) winning their afternoon game against Punjab Kings (PBKS), the teams set to face each other in the playoffs have been revealed.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who occupied the top spot, will face SRH in Qualifier 1. On the other side, making a strong comeback and turning the fortunes, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will take on the currently out-of-form Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Eliminator.

The first-placed KKR will take on SRH in the first Qualifier at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 21 while the 4th placed RCB will take on RR in the Eliminator on May 22 in the same venue. Both SRH and RR have the same points (17) after 14 games but SRH just edged RR due to a superior net run rate.
