IPL 2025 Retentions: Complete list of players kept and released by all 10 franchises ahead of mega auction

As the excitement builds for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, teams were given October 31 as the deadline to announce their retained players. Heinrich Klaasen topped the retention earnings, with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) retaining him for ₹23 crore. Virat Kohli and Nicholas Pooran followed closely, who were each retained by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for ₹21 crore.

On the flip side, several high-profile players will look for new teams in the auction. Notably, Rishabh Pant, a star for Delhi Capitals (DC), has been released while LSG let go of KL Rahul. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) title-winning captain Shreyas Iyer was also not retained. Interestingly, while all predicted Punjab Kings (PBKS) to only retain fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, he, too, was let go.
