IPL 2024 - Brilliant 50s by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag; rescue RR's innings

Match 50 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) witnessed the visiting side beginning their chase of 202 runs by losing two wickets in the very first over. However, thereafter, the two youngsters, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag, anchored the innings for RR, aided by drop catches by SRH fielders.

Both players reached their half-centuries, stabilizing RR's innings and rescuing their side after Bhuvneshwar Kumar wreaked havoc in the opening over, dismissing Buttler and Samson for ducks. The young duo of RR also maintained the run rate by hitting boundaries consistently.

As of writing this article, 13 overs were completed, and RR had scored 132 runs while losing just two wickets. Rajasthan Royals need 70 runs in 42 balls. Currently, Jaiswal has smashed 66 off 38 balls with 7 fours and 2 maximums, while Riyan Parag has scored 59 off 38 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes.

Earlier, after 20 overs, SRH, who won the toss and chose to bat first, posted 201 runs and lost 3 wickets. Nitish Reddy remained not out with 76 runs off 42 balls, while Heinrich Klaasen smashed 42 off 19. Prior to them, Travis Head scored 58 off 44, while Abhishek Sharma departed for 12 off 10, and Anmolpreet Singh for 5 off 5. For RR, Avesh Khan picked two wickets, while Sandeep Sharma has one to his name.
