Tadiwanashe Marumani (32 off 31) and Wessly Madhevere (25 off 24) of Zimbabwe were among the hitters who started the day strongly, with Sikandar Raza (46 off 28) also helping. Still, there was little the other batters could do as Faraz Akram (4 off 3), Dion Myers (12 off 13), Clive Madande (7 off 5), Brian Bennett (9 off 14), and Jonathan Campbell (3 off 3, run-out) did not last long.
For India, Khaleel Ahmed claimed two wickets, while Washington Sundar, Abhishek Sharma, and Shivam Dube each took one. Tushar Deshpande, who made his debut, also claimed a wicket.
