IND vs SL: Shreyas Iyer's bullseye throw and Virat Kohli's swift fielding reduce Sri Lanka to 240 for 9 wickets

In the 2nd ODI between India and Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, the host nation opted to bat and reached a total of 240 runs but lost 9 wickets in the process. What drew significant attention was Shreyas Iyer's bullseye throw to the stumps from deep mid-wicket. While fans were still processing this wicket, Virat Kohli added to the excitement by running out another batter on the final ball of the innings.

On the 5th ball of the final over, Kamindu Mendis played a pull shot in the air towards mid-wicket. Iyer fielded the ball at mid-wicket and made an accurate throw to the striker's end, hitting the stumps directly and scattering the bails.

Soon after, Jeffrey Vandersay, who had just come to the crease, attempted a run. Rohit Sharma had a shy at the bowler's end but missed. The ball then went towards Virat Kohli, and Sri Lankan batter Akila Dananjaya tried to steal a second run. Kohli sprinted to the stumps with the ball in hand and managed to knock off the bails for another runout.

As India chases the target, they have scored 76 runs without losing a wicket after 10 overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma, as usual, has gone on the attack, reaching his half-century off 30 balls, while Shubman Gill has contributed 23 runs off 30 balls.

This match marks the 150th ODI at the Colombo R. Premadasa Stadium, making it the fifth venue to host this many ODIs, following Sharjah (249), Harare Sports Club (182), Sydney Cricket Ground (161), and Melbourne Cricket Ground (151).

The game is particularly significant as the first match ended in a tie. Sri Lanka missed another opportunity to capitalize on a dominating position, extending their winless streak.
