Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav
After losing two early wickets, Team India found stability with skipper Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, who forged a 50-run partnership in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final clash against England at Providence Stadium in Guyana. While both looked dangerous and attacked the English bowlers, the Three Lions managed to dismiss both batsmen within a span of 3 overs.

First, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was bowled by Adil Rashid for 57 off 39 balls, followed by Suryakumar Yadav, sent back by Jofra Archer for 47 off 36. The dismissals of these two set batsmen sparked discussions among netizens on X (formerly known as Twitter). While many praised the cricketers, some questioned the reason behind their reckless shots.

Really poor strike rate by Rohit Sharma and SuryaKumar Yadav. They failed to accelerate. #INDvsENG2024

In my opinion Rohit Sharma’s and SuryaKumar Yadav’s collective strike rate which could have fetched us a total of 165-170 runs isn’t enough. One of the two should’ve accelerated and not played for the milestones. One got out just after fifty and one just before. #INDvsENG2024

Jadeja coming ahead of Shivam Dube & Axar?? What utter nonsense is this from the team management! #INDvENG #INDvsENG2024 #T20WorldCup
After 19 overs, India has managed to score 159 runs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Virat Kohli (9 off 9), Rishabh Pant (4 off 6), Rohit Sharma, SKY, and most recently Hardik Pandya (23 off 13) and Shivam Dube for a duck, were the batsmen dismissed. Currently, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel are at the crease, and fans are hoping the team can push the score past the 160-run mark.
Chris Jordan has taken two wickets for England, while Reece Topley, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, and Adil Rashid have claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, England won the toss and chose to field, with both teams remaining unchanged. Notably, all five of India's defeats in ICC tournaments since 2021 have occurred while batting first.
Stand down, no hat-trick this time for CJ 😞
