Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant
After being demoted to the No. 5 batting spot, fans are eager to see Virat Kohli in his full glory. However, he gave everyone a scare after nearly being run out in the 18.1 over. On Day 4 of the 2nd Test between India and Bangladesh, Kohli came to the crease following the wicket of Shubman Gill. He faced a delivery from Khaled Ahmed, who missed an easy run-out opportunity.

It was a good-length ball outside off, and Kohli was looking to drive it on the up but chopped it off a thick under-edge next to the pitch. What followed was a big mix-up; as Kohli started to run, he found himself stranded halfway down the pitch. Khaled Ahmed charged in, got the ball, and only needed to run up to the stumps and take the bails off.
With Kohli halfway down the pitch, he had given up, but the Bangladesh bowler attempted an underarm throw from two yards and missed the bails completely. Kohli escaped and was later seen receiving a big hug from Pant, along with a sheepish smile after everything settled down.

Fans on X (formerly known as Twitter) spoke about how they want Kohli to play carefully, but also about the mood with which the Men in Blue have decided to step into this game after losing two whole days due to rain and wet outfield.

As of now, following the fastest 50, Team India has also become the fastest team to reach 150 runs in Tests, bettering the 21.1 overs set by India against West Indies in Port of Spain in 2023 (where ball-by-ball data is available). So far, 23 overs have been completed, with India losing 4 wickets and posting 188 runs, trailing by 45 runs.

India leads the World Test Championship (WTC) rankings with a 71.67% victory percentage after winning seven of ten games. They would have needed three more victories from five games to make it to a third straight final if they had defeated Bangladesh 2-0.
But since a tie in the Kanpur Test is likely to occur, the teams will share the points, which will make India's journey more difficult. To guarantee a position in the championship game, they must now defeat Australia in at least two games of the Border-Gavaskar series and also win against New Zealand in their next home series. India is hoping to win in Kanpur given the manner they are playing.
