After Ashwin's positive batting helped India post 376 runs, Bangladesh struggled and were bowled out for just 149, with the only highlight being a fifty partnership between Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das.
India chose not to enforce the follow-on, allowing Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill to shine with their respective centuries, setting Bangladesh a daunting target of 515 runs.

Despite a decent start with a half-century partnership between the openers, Bangladesh lost four wickets on the third day in the final play session. At the start of Day 4, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shakib initially resisted but Ashwin made quick work of the batting order after the drinks break.
Bangladesh crumbled from 205/5 to 234, with Shanto top-scoring with 82 in a losing effort. Jadeja took three wickets while Ashwin completed his remarkable match with a six-for alongside his century.
