IND vs BAN: India win by massive 86-runs margin, take an unassailable 2-0 lead against Bangladesh

Team India has not only taken a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series but has also clinched the series with a massive 86-run victory over Bangladesh at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. This 86-run margin marks India’s biggest win by runs against Bangladesh in T20I history, surpassing their previous record of a 50-run victory in North Sound during the recent T20 World Cup.

The match began on a challenging note for the Men in Blue as they lost their top three batters - Sanju Samson falling for 10 runs off 7 balls, Abhishek Sharma departing for 15 runs off 11 and skipper Suryakumar Yadav for 8 runs off 10 balls - within the Powerplay. However, Nitish Reddy (74 off 34) and Rinku Singh (53 off 29) mounted a remarkable recovery, forming a strong partnership for the fourth wicket. 

The young duo stitched together a vital 108-run stand, effectively stabilizing the innings while the Bangladeshi bowlers struggled to claim further wickets. Both Reddy and Singh reached their half-centuries, showcasing their talent and resilience at a crucial juncture. After their dismissals, Hardik Pandya contributed a valuable cameo, helping India set a daunting target of 221 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.

Rishad Hossain was the pick of the bowler taking 3 wickets while Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman took two each.

In response, Bangladesh faced difficulties from the outset, losing wickets at regular intervals and slipping to 46/4 by the 7th over. Mahmudullah played a spirited knock, scoring 41 runs off 39 balls, but India maintained a stranglehold on the game, effectively stifling the Bangladeshi batsmen. 

The visitors struggled to build partnerships, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz (16 off 16), Parvez Hossain Emon (16 off 12), Litton Das (14 off 11), and Najmul Hossain Shanto (11 off 7) being the only other players to reach double digits. Ultimately, India's bowlers displayed their dominance, ensuring a comprehensive series victory.

Varun Chakaravarthy and Nitish Reddy picked two wickets each while Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Abhishek Sharma, Mayank Yadav and Riyan Parag all picked one each.
