After losing almost 2 and a half days due to rain, it looked like the 2nd Test would end in a draw, leading to India's chances in the World Test Championship (WTC) final a little difficult. However, The Men in Blue went all guns blazing when they got the chance to play on Day 4 and now, they are 95 runs away from a 2-0 series win over Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. India bowled out Bangladesh for 146 runs on the last ball before lunch and this session proved to be another enthralling session.

R Ashwin struck early, dismissing first-innings centurion Mominul Haque cheaply. Shadman Islam (50 off 101) and skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto (19 off 37) showed good resistance, mixing caution with aggression and quickly putting together a 50+ stand. However, an ill-advised reverse sweep from the Bangladesh captain against Ravindra Jadeja opened the floodgates, and it was a procession after that.

Bangladesh collapsed from 91/3 to 94/7, with Jadeja picking up three wickets and Akash Deep dismissing Shadman. Jasprit Bumrah then returned to grab a couple of wickets, and just when it seemed that Mushfiqur Rahim and Khaled Ahmed had done enough to take Bangladesh into lunch 9 down, the experienced batter attempted a reckless shot and lost his middle stump.
