With a strong total on the board despite a 75-minute rain break, the Indian bowlers adopted an aggressive approach and bundled out the English batsmen for just 103 runs, securing a commanding 68-run victory.

Although 171 runs seemed above par, India remained cautious of England, who had defeated them by 10 wickets in a similar semifinal situation back in 2022. Skipper Jos Buttler started well with three boundaries but was dismissed by Axar Patel off the first ball he faced. This triggered a collapse for England, with even the in-form Philip Salt falling victim to Jasprit Bumrah. India then tightened the noose with their spinners.

Buttler (23 off 15), Salt (5 off 8), Moeen Ali (8 off 10), Jonny Bairstow (0 off 3), Sam Curran (2 off 4), and Harry Brook (25 off 19) all departed swiftly. Liam Livingstone (11 off 16), Chris Jordan (1 off 5), Jofra Archer (21 off 15), Adil Rashid (2 off 2), and Reece Topley (3* off 3) followed suit.

Earlier, India had amassed 171 runs in their innings, losing 7 wickets in the process. Rohit Sharma (57 off 39) and Suryakumar Yadav (47 off 36) were the top scorers, supported by contributions from Virat Kohli (9 off 9), Rishabh Pant (4 off 6), Hardik Pandya (23 off 13), Axar Patel (10 off 6), and Ravindra Jadeja (17* off 9).

England's bowling effort saw Chris Jordan taking three wickets, while Reece Topley, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, and Adil Rashid each picked up one wicket.
