'24.75Cr vasool' - Fans express excitement as 'big match player' Mitchell Starc takes wicket in 1st over of IPL 2024 Final

What a start to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Final as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Mitchell Starc proved why Australians are called 'big match players'. In the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Starc got the better of the otherwise in-form Abhishek Sharma for just 2 runs.

As the commentators said, "It was the ball of the tournament"; it was an absolute peach, and Abhishek had no answers. He angled the ball in, drew Abhishek forward, and then nipped away wickedly. The ball went on to clip the outside of his off-stump, and Abhishek just put his head down and walked away for 2(5). Fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to praise the bowler, with many saying, the 24.75Cr has been 'vasooled' (recovered).

As of writing this article, things for SRH have not been going in their favour as they lost two wickets in 2 overs and posted just 6 runs. Travis Head departed for a DUCK after facing just a ball by Vaibhav Arora. SRH's fans are already looking downcast as their main scorers departed at the start of the Final clash.

Currently, after 5 overs, SRH managed to get 23 runs on the board after losing their three top batters. Rahul Tripathi too was dismissed for 9 off 13 just now by Starc. Aiden Markram is at the crease along with Nitish Reddy.

Earlier, at the toss, SRH won and opted to bat first. For the team in orange, Shahbaz Ahmed came in for Abdul Samad while KKR went with their winning combination.
