The Great Indian Kapil Show- Here’s why Sunil Pal called Sunil Grover's comedy vulgar and cheap
After having made the entire nation and even foreign countries with his impromptu jokes in reality shows, the ace comedian Kapil Sharma went onto host his own show Comedy Nights With Kapil, which was followed by The Kapil Sharma Show. Both of these plus his live performance in foreign countries made him one of the most sought-after actors (read ‘comics’) in the country.
Just a few months ago, Kapil Sharma took to social media and announced that his new show The Great Indian Kapil Show will be streamed on Netflix. The newly announced show had many aspects (as tried by the show’s makers) to make it the number one show. Amongst the many things introduced (or is it re-introduced) was Sunil Grover, who was best known for his Gutthi and Dr. Mashoor Gulati’s act in the previous seasons, before he and Kapil Sharma had a huge fallout.
While Sunil Grover and his acts are loved by many in The Great Indian Kapil Show, there is one person who seemed to not like it at all. The person is none other than Sunil Pal, one of the immensely respected veteran comedians. In an interview with Telly Talk India, Sunil Pal landed up bashing Sunil Grover for mimicking women and also went on to accuse him of portraying them as desperate.
In the same breath, Sunil Pal also questioned (Sunil Grover, in the interview) the reason for him to sit on people’s lap (read ‘guests’ laps), which, he termed it as ‘vulgar’. He termed the whole thing by saying, “Ghinn aati hai… Acha nahi lagta hai”. He added that, he (Sunil Grover), would then be seen making an appearance at award functions, and say things like, ‘Today I learnt that one can also eat oranges!
Not the one to stop at this, Sunil Pal also went on to criticise Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda about their cross-dressing on The Great Indian Kapil Show.
