The Rajkummar Rao starrer Srikanth has at last been released in theatres all over. Thanks to the 360-degree promotions plus the inspirational factor of the film being a biopic of a blind man who is an achiever, has only helped the film in a major way at the box office. The film has taken off to a slow start at the box office, as far as its first day collections are concerned.

As per the available reports till now, the film has managed to collect around Rs. 2.25 crores at the box office windows, which is generally considered as a slow start in Bollywood. The film saw an occupancy of around 12.14% for its Hindi version. But, the two days of weekend are really expected to do wonders for the film as a film of this stature can do miracles majorly through word-of-mouth publicity.

And of the initial buzz around the film is anything to go by, then, the word of mouth will truly prove to be a string factor (read ‘driving force’) for the audiences to see the film, which is a biopic of Srikanth Bolla, a visually impaired man, who went onto create history in the field of business and entrepreneurship by establishing Bollant Industries, of which, he is a founder.

Speaking about the film, while it has been directed by Tushar Hiranandani, it has been produced by T-Series and Chalk and Cheese Films. Thanks to the film’s free flowing script and near flawless narrative, the reviews for the film have been mostly encouraging and positive, which again, can work as a catalyst for the audiences to see the film in theatres.

Another factor (although not major) can come in the way of Srikanth’s progress at the box office is the release of the Hollywood film Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes, which had got released along with the Rajkummar Rao starrer. Even though the audiences of both the films are totally separate, Srikanth may just need to pass the test in the days to come. Given the simplicity and the emotional appeal of the film, the film is expected to spring an immediate surprise at the box office.
