No Entry would be blockbuster even if Boney Kapoor signed me instead of Fardeen Khan, says Sanjay Kapoor
The year 2005 saw the release of a multi starrer film in the form of No Entry. The film starred a whole lot of actors including Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Boman Irani, Bipasha Basu, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta, Celina Jaitly and Fardeen Khan. Speaking of Fardeen Khan, he was in the news recently because of his big comeback with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much talked about series Heeramandi.
Besides that, his name was mentioned by actor Sanjay Kapoor in an interview with Shivani Pau in her podcast. Sanjay Kapoor, who had made his debut in Bollywood with Boney Kapoor’s Prem (in which he was paired opposite Tabu), was recently seen in the murder mystery Murder Mubarak (which also saw the comeback of Karsima Kapoor).
In the said interview, Sanjay Kapoor said that he felt his elder brother (Boney Kapoor) could have easily cast him in his film No Entry as he already had stars like Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor. He added that his brother (Boney Kapoor) didn’t cast him when he was going through a tough phase. In the same breath, he also added that, when Boney Kapoor made No Entry, he could have taken him instead of Fardeen Khan; but he didn’t.
He explained that by saying that, the film (No Entry) already had stars like Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor, and, in that way, he could have sold the film anyway, which would have done well, even if he had taken him... with the film being a blockbuster.
Sanjay Kapoor drove him his point by saying that Boney Kapoor had taken Fardeen Khan, because at that time (when the film was being made), he (Fardeen Khan) was more saleable than him (Sanjay Kapoor). He also revealed that he had not worked in his brother’s production in the last 20 years.
