Michael De Luca Didn’t Want To Join Paramount Pictures

Universal Pictures’ Michael De Luca has allegedly rejected the proposal to join troubled rivals Paramount Pictures. It is said that he was offered the position to be No. 2, under the new chairman and CEO, and be vice-chairman and overseas production. Paramount has been struggling of late and is last among all the top studios in half a decade now.

As per a source, “Although he was very flattered and tempted, it ultimately wasn’t the right fit, and he has a great deal at Universal”. De Luca recent achievement was to produce 89th Academy Awards, along with Jennifer Todd.

However, this occasion will rather be remembered for a mix-up from PriceWaterhouseCoopers accountant, which led to Best Picture being awarded to La La Land, instead of winner, Moonlight. Talking about the ratings, the show received second lowest ratings in Oscar history.
