Recently in a conversation with Humans of Bombay, the film-maker revealed few details about a scene from the movie. For all who questions Zoya's style of film-making, here's a good enough explanation from her side.

She has always believed in her vision and she never compromised on it, come what may. Here's what she had to say:

“I’m not consciously trying to etch out strong female characters. I’m trying to etch out interesting characters – male and female.

In Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, there’s the Spanish girl Noorie and she meets Imran (Farhan Akhtar) and they hook up. I was told to cut the scene from the movie where Imran and Noorie are in bed talking because we were looking to make some edits to cut the film’s length… it’s the one in which Imran is talking in Hindi about his father. And I said absolutely not – that scene was the heart of their little romance.
