Why It’s GREAT That 2016 Is Officially The Year Of Break Ups!
If 2016 is a needle, it has very well busted our bubble!
Thanks to Bollywood, our very definition of love is unfortunately fabricated! Or let’s say Bollywoodized.
Accept it or not, there’s a filmy worm inside Indians and we’re just busy relating ourselves to the love stories we see on celluloid and to that of the real life celebrity couples.

Some of us say it out loud and are unapologetic about being filmy, and some mentally know it but fret to socially accept it.
Hum ek baar jeete hain, ek baar marte hain, aur pyar ek baar hota hai!

There’s slight correction in that dialogue from Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in the 21st Century. I think, Pyar ek baar se zyada ho sakta hai, may be in a different way and for good!
It began with the roller coaster of repeated news of break ups.
Like imagining Farhan Akhtar being in an unhappy wedlock didn’t quite go down well with his fans. Even non fans would have never imagined his break up!
What most of us forget in fandom is the fact that these celebs are at the end of the day are just like us. In fact the younger lot is even more real and they’re just one of us. They perhaps go through the same happiness, depression, turmoil and have similar arguments as lovers/partners like any non celeb would do.
Just because we get used to seeing them together and everything seems picture perfect for the shutterbugs, we forget that we too have a bunch of memories and selfies which we will never be able to cherish again.

Don’t we try to move on and struggle to forget our past? Frankly, so do the celebs.
What’s commendable about today’s stars is the fact that some of them have really moved on in life, only to be good friends with their exes and have maintained harmony in their lives. Kalki- Anurag, Deepika and Ranbir are classic examples!
Log Kya Kahenge…

While people troll and laugh over the second or third or fourth wedding of stars, we should wonder about the millions of tumultuous relationships where many Indians are still living with each other just for the sake of ‘Log Kya Kahenge?’
Hats off to them who gave no f**ks to this Log Kya Kahenge mentality and let go off their unhappy relationships! Bipasha Basu in her recent interview came out as one of the strongest women in the industry that she doesn’t care about being a second – third- or fourth wife. For her it’s about making it work this time! And I say, why not?
Isn’t it better to walk out of a relationship that is doing no good to the couple? And, does that mean one should stop looking for a new beginning? Relationships are no commodities which come with a guarantee sticker. When you cannot guarantee how long you’re going to live, and for how long you will be able to control your craving for that chocolate brownie you’ve been eyeing during your diet, here you’re talking about a lifetime!
2016 has pulled off all curtains from our bubble and is suggesting to just be more real and bid adieu to our larger than life fantasies! I love how Arbaaz Khan posted on social media saying Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Logon Ka Kaam Hai Kehna! If you have to be filmy, be like Arbaaz! LOL

You don’t bet on how long will your relationship last right? Most of us don’t even want to believe that we might not end up together after all. So why do we evaluate or idolize Bollywood stars and set them as a benchmark for our own relationships?
Not every man is a Rahul. It shouldn’t take you a makeover to marry the man of your dreams! Not every lover is like Raj who would travel all the way ‘saat samundar paar’ to marry his love. Not every fiancé is Aman from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai who’s sacrificing enough to let go off his lover for her first love. Not every woman is Tina who would write letters to her daughter before she dies so that her husband can meet the love of his life! No! We don’t quite get the real meaning of ‘Fiction’!
Ye zindagi bahot lambi hai Babumoshai, aur humare paas waqt bahot kam!
No doubt there are movies which are highly relatable these days, but Ye zindagi bahot lambi hai Babumoshai, aur humare paas waqt bahot kam! So make the most of it!
The point I’m trying to make here is, not all endings are happy, and that in fact is not bad!
